About

OSTTRA is a sustainable accessories brand that transforms reclaimed oyster nets and retired climbing ropes into durable, high-end totes. Each piece is handmade in Oregon, giving new life to materials with stories of the sea and the mountains. Designed to be strong, versatile, and timeless, OSTTRA bags are built for markets, beaches, and everyday adventures. Proof that style and sustainability can go hand in hand.

Where are your nets from?

Our oyster netting comes directly from the largest oyster farm in the U.S. After cutting what they need for their operations, large sections of netting are left with no purpose. That’s where we step in. By reclaiming this excess material, we transform what would otherwise go to waste into durable, functional, and good-looking bags. Proving that sustainability and style can share the same tide.

Where do you get your rope handles?

The handles of our bags are made from retired climbing ropes sourced from gyms across the Pacific Northwest. Once these ropes reach the end of their safety life, they can no longer be used for climbing, but they still have incredible strength and character. Instead of sending them to the landfill, we give them a second life as sturdy, colorful handles that carry both your essentials and the story of countless climbs.

What about your leather handles?

For select styles, we finish our bags with leather handles sourced from Oregon Leather hides. Each handle is hand-cut and crafted in our studio, adding a refined touch to the rugged materials we reclaim. Durable yet comfortable in hand, these details highlight our commitment to combining function and craftsmanship in every bag.

Where are your bags made?

Each bag you see is lovingly brought to life right here in our studio on the Oregon Coast. They are carefully cut, assembled and finished piece by piece. Every detail is intentional, creating a durable, beautiful bag that carries a bit of the ocean air and a whole lot of heart.
